Some new additions to the St Petersburg guide have just been put online. Firstly the entertainment section has been revamped, updated and expanded. The newest member of the Way to Russia team, Denis Nemchitsky, has written a whole bunch of reviews of the most trendy clubs and bars in the northern capital. Check out the fully updated St Petersburg entertainment section here.

And to be sure you don’t miss anything that’s happening in St Petersburg or Moscow, whether it’s at a club, theater or museum, Denis is also listing every event worth knowing about on the Way to Russia What’s On calendar.

Also just added is a complete guide to the sights of St Petersburg with an interactive map to show you where they are. It features stacks of information about all the most famous sights and a few lesser known ones as well. Plus there are plenty of pretty pictures there. Click here to take a virtual tour through the Venice of the north, courtesy of Way to Russia.

And, of course, the St Petersburg guide still features stacks of information about accommodation and loads of practical advice, with more updates soon to come. If you have any comments or suggestions for future updates please leave them below. Your feedback is very helpful for us.

There have been a few exciting developments since the last report. Firstly, we've recently added Svezhy Veter to our list of train ticket vendors. This is perhaps the best company around for Trans-Siberian tickets and, importantly, they are one of only a couple of Russian companies that can provide Trans-Siberian tickets originating in Beijing.

Secondly, after a renovation, the Way to Russia tour page is back better than ever. Click here to see what's on offer.

Finally, in the next week we'll be listing at least four new central Moscow apartments priced at $100 or less per night. Apartments in central Moscow below the $100 barrier are incredibly rare these days and are a great option for budget travelers. In the meantime there are plenty of other options to choose from. Read on for a review of the performance of each of our current advertisers.
